Regarding: "finally the man discovers that there is an oldest daughter. that rules out the "2 6 6" possibility since the two oldest would be twins. therefore, the daughters ages must be "3 3 8".
I don't know why you have to rule out 2 6 6 because there is ALWAYS an older twin. Why does it matter if someone is older by 2 minutes or 5 years.
A friend posed this question to me last night and I came up with the 2 6 6 answer and he argued that it had to be 3 3 8 (he said the oldest daughter was blonde).
I said with fraternal twins, they don't have to have the same color hair.
Anyway, just wondering your thoughts on this.
