No "Joel on Software" chat room?

It's easy to set up on AIM.... basically just tell people that that's gonna be the name of your chat room. Then anyone can create it at any time.

There are no super-moderators like in IRC, so it doesn't matter who creates the room. I also don't know if there are size limits like "over 50 users and we'll send you to Joel On Software 2."

To join or create the room from AIM:

1. Select People / Send Chat Invitation (Alt + C)

2. Type your own name in the invite list instead of your friend's name, unless you really do want to send them a chat invitation.

3. Change the "Chat room:" name to "Joel on Software" - without the quotes.

4. Click Send.

If the room exists you'll join it. If the room doesn't exist, you'll create it.

* Basically, you're inviting yourself into the chat room... I should've mentioned that.

I keep myself in my buddy list so I can see my status, so for me I just right click on my own name and select "Send chat invitation"
