Call him up and ask for a job?

I know a few people who are currently working at hedge funds who got their jobs through headhunters. The hiring company pays the headhunter, not the candidate, so there's no harm in trying it out. They're pushy, but you get used to it. Most of the ads on craigslist and other job boards are actually headhunters, not employers, so I'd dash off a few resumes and see what happens.

What's so great about working at a hedge fund that would attract a programmer of this caliber?
