NYC .NET Developer's Group

Prakash e-mailed me to ask about the group, and I figured others might be interested as well, so I'll make the reply public.

You can find more info at their website, http://www.nycdotnetdev.com. They meet once a month at the Microsoft offices in Midtown (I think the third Thursday of the month), presenting a different topic each month. For March, Chris Kinsman will be talking about Smart Clients.

Hope to see some of you there! It'll be my first time - I've meant to go for the past few months but things just haven't quite worked out each time!

Just got back from the .net dev group. It was great! I'll be there for the next one.

Who, here, was there? I was there with 2 others. Sat towards the front, green/tan rugby.

I was also there, sitting in the back, with two buddies of mine (although I only showed up with one of them, the other was already there).

As I showed up after the presentation started, I was sitting in the back, on the left side (conveniently in front of the pizza and soda, of course :). I think we were the row behind (one of) the mumbler(s), if I'm thinking of the right person.

I thought the presentation itself was excellent. I've posted some additional thoughts I had on the whole Web- vs. WinForms thing over the past week @ http://dotnetweblogs.com/TMarman/posts/4266.aspx , if anyone is interested and/or has additional thoughts/comments.

I have already talked to one person who blogs and we're going to try to meet up for drinks next time. If you decide to attend, e-mail me and we can all try to get together. Maybe we can even convince Joel to join us! :)

A few of us were planning to do this last time, but with the weather we didn't stick around...
