Joel on Software is exclusive enough, but this forum is even more exclusive ... it is a place for Joel on Software readers in and around New York City, where I live, to hang out and chat.

Why a New York City forum? Well, I thought having a forum just for New Yorkers would allow some of us to get together and meet in real life, which makes the community many times stronger than a purely virtual community.

A few guidelines. First, although this forum is moderated, there is no official "topic" and thus nothing is really off topic. However, I do ask that you use your real name and email when you post. Your email is saved by our server so that if someone clicks on your name, they get a web form where they can send you a message, but we'll never actually reveal your email address. This should make it virtually spam proof; spammers don't have time to fill out web forms!
