According to this article (referenced on /.), an auto dealer has that number in their area code, and among all the callers...they sell some cars.
kind of like reverse telemarketing...they call you, and you have to try to sell them something. :-)

Yeah, i stuck with our original (800) number and never opted for an 866-my-company # b/c customers might not realize that 888 or 866 is toll free. (I'm a telecom engineer and I didn't realize that they'd started using 866 for toll free).
Besides, I HATE having to dial an alpha phone number.
