Arthur Nersesian

Hi fellow New Yorkers

What do you think about Arthur Nersesian's novels? I have recently picked up two of his novels and love the prose. It's all about New York too!

I am 250 pages into The Fuck-Up and for all the accolades and recommendations its received, it is a very poorly written novel. Minor characters seem lifted from bad Hollywood scripts. And there are several logical flaws that begin to occur about 100 pages into the book. A big disappointment.

of all his books, i loved suicide casanova the most. nersesian is great at twisting ugly into something beautiful, and he's great at developing plot. i love it!

Love his work, have read 4 novels so far, re-read 1 again this week.  Great author, good to read someone as good as Salinger.  His characters are "everyman" or "Superman".

Arthur is a sobering helmet!  He kills all buzzes!

I'm coming along a little late to this conversation. If anyone's still listening, I greatly enjoyed Nersesian's Chinese Takeout. He has a wonderful, witty writing style, the book is beautifully paced, and the characters are realistic and well-developed. It's a funny glimpse into the hand-to-mouth bohemian life.

Genius! Awesome!  I have all of his books.  Suicide Casanova is brilliant. His new one is coming out September 2004.
