In NYc Over Christmas Hey folks, I'm going to be in New York for eight days the week after Christmas. I lived in the city for three months last summer, so I've done most of the standard NYC tourist stuff. I'm looking for new & interesting ideas, maybe activities that are well suited for winter weather. Specifically, I'll be staying in Brooklyn Heights, so Brooklyn ideas are welcome too.

Ice Skating under the tree in Rockefeller Center? The windows at Bloomingdales & Macy*s? NOT shopping in any store that might sell gifts.

Skating in Central Park would probably be nice too, although I've never done it.

I went ice skating in central park... it was fun but... why would it be any different from ice skating anywhere else? I think Rockefeller Center is the place to do it.

It's more fun to watch skating at Rockefeller Center than to actually do it - the rink is so small that all you're doing is constantly turning in a tight circle.

Speaking of Time Square at new years Eve, Where do 10s of thousands of people go to take leak that night?
