Any They Might Be Giants fans here?
Some people are alcoholics. Others are sex addicts. Or maybe they have a gambling problem. Me? I like to buy tickets to concerts in New York, even though I live in Colorado.
Sometimes, I actually manage to make it all the way across the country to goof off in a real city and go to these shows.
Other times, our CIO schedules mandatory weekend design meetings with an army of consultants to talk about installing our company's new accounting software ON THE SAME WEEKEND during which I was planning to fly out of town. As you may have guessed, the latter is the case this time around. To make matters worse, I recently managed to run my car into a pillar in the parking garage of my condo, so since I have to pay for THAT now, I suppose it's probably best if I opt not to drop money on plane tickets at the moment.
(<sigh> I knew I should have applied for that Fog Creek opening when I had the chance.)
So, without further ado...
The concert in question is a special one-night-only show called "They Might Be Giants' Other Thing" which is happening Sunday, September 28, 2003 9:30pm at Joe's Pub @ 425 Lafayette Street (between East 4th Street and Astor Place) in NYC. Read about it here:

Since I found out there wasn't much of a profit to be had on eBay (they said NYC bid limit was $30) I thought I'd just post here first and see if I found any takers for the face value of $25.
If you're a fan of TMBG, I GUARANTEE that you will love this show. (Really, how can you call yourself a New Yorker if you don't like TMBG? C'mon.) I went to the last one in this series and couldn't have been happier. Even if you're neutral or just a "sorta" fan, it should still be a really good time. It's been sold out for a while now.
Anyway, thanks for reading my long winded spiel, and if you're interested in the ticket, email me. First email wins.

I highly recommend checking out their new documentary film if you haven't seen it. Very entertaining:

(even the subtitle is funny: "A tale of two Johns" ;)

THEY are great! I didn't know they were playing this month. I'm there!
Another reason to cross the river. Argh!
It's like:
action = strstr("NYC", "TMBG") ? "Cross River" : "Do What Wife Wants";
(I'm a first time fog creek web site visitor. So I had to throw some code around..)
