Outlook attachments I have Outlook 2003. I received an email with a 10 MB attachment. I have saved the attachment to my hard drive. Now I'd like to strip the attachment from the email, so that I can still search on the email while reducing the size of my mail store. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Right-click on the attachment, select delete. Then go to File|Save ?

Thanks.

That gets you a copy of the attachment for safe-keeping. Then you need to remove the attachment from the email: right-click the attachment in the email and then "remove".

Well, with outlook express I regularly drag the email to the desktop, delete it from OE itself, open it in a text editor, remove anything i don't like, and drag it back in..

It will still be taking up space in the archive until you compress it.

Forward the email to yourself w/o the attachment and delete the original.

Actually, I just double-checked this. There's an easier way.
