** Urgent: hosting+domain: any recommendations? ** Need to setup domain name + hosting urgently. not enuf time to research.
TIA (Thanks in advance)
Domain - GoDaddy for price, or Gandi if you have a problem with their policies.

Thx for quick reply Mark... checking out goDaddy...
TIA (Thanks in advance)
I'd go through the Netcraft list & see who does Windows/ASP. The top 17 or so are tied for first place of zero downtime.

And, of course, WebHostingTalk.com, but you said you didn't have time to research.

Okay, I take it back, I didn't learn anything by going through that NetCraft list. Go register on WebHostingTalk and ask them.

Godaddy.com for the domain, LunarPages.com ( http://www.lunarpages.com/ ) for the host. ASP is an additional dollar a month per domain, so you're sitting at $8.95 a month.

Heard good things about http://www.webhost4life.com and am also checking out http://www.1and1.com myself.

I'm a big fan of CrystalTech ( www.crystaltech.com ). Great support, and they're always adding nice improvements to the hosting environments. I've recommended them to several people, and everyone's been very enthusiastic.

The problem with asking about hosting services is that you never know when people are selling their product or giving an honest opinion. In these situations I rely on the opinions of known board members like Mark Taw and others.

I use hostysite.com and have for years. They offer mail, asp, and coldfusion, very reasonable, and will do the domain registration for free for you. I've had very good experiences with their customer service, and have been using them as my mail host for several years without a hitch.

Just signed up with http://www.pair.com for hosting and http://www.pairnic.com for domain. Also, use godaddy.com for domain.

I just tried http://www.godaddy.com for a few new domain registrations. The process went smooth, although the repetitive hawkin of extra services during the process was a bit tedious. No complaints so far, and the price was right.

I've been treated extremely well by www.gearhost.com .
