Computer Crash Paralyses UK Airports

"Air traffic controllers were reportedly forced to work manually because of the computer glitch - which was sourced to a data-handling centre at West Drayton in Middlesex"

Does anyone have any idea what kind of system they're running in terms of hardware and software?  Lockheed Martin were the contractors who created it, and this is the second major incident in as many years!

A quick search and from a news article 2 years ago:

"Although the affected FDPS at West Drayton runs on two IBM S/390 mainframes which are only six months old, it uses software that was originally developed in the 1970s."
