SD/MMC to Sony Memory Stick

OK we just got a Sony TV that "conveniently" has a Memory Stick slot in it. The thing is of course that all of my other electronic stuff uses MMC/SD Cards.

I am wondering if anybody has seen anything similar to the "CIDA II" at http://www.sdcard.com/usa/Consumer_Preview_Catalog_2Col.asp?CategoryID=13 that might convert to Memory Stick rather than CF. Of the TV wasn't bought for the memory stick feature, it is just an idea I have to try and make use of this feature.

The USB-based 5-in-1, 6-in-1, 7-in-1 readers all seem to support simultaneous media. So I could plug in both a Memory Stick and an MMC/SD card, and they show up as separate drive letters. Copying files is as simple as normal Explorer drag & drop.

I think he's trying to avoid having to purchase a Sony Memory stick! So getting both and dropping them in a 6-in-1 reader isn't a solution.

As the owner of a Sony Ericsson cell phone, I feel his pain!

Yeah i am trying to find a way to plug a SD card into a slot designed for a Memory Stick.

It most likely doesn't exist, why does sony insist on putting this thing in all their stuff, why can't they just dump it and go to using one of the standardised forms of memory card!!!

Standardized memory card...now that is something!

There are atleast three major formats SD/MMC, CompactFlash and Memorystick with Memory stick having around 22% of market share as compared to 30% for SD so I do not think that Memory stick can be classisifed as "non-standard"...even SanDisk makes memory sticks now and last I checked they are supported by Samsung also.

Best bet is to not buy sony/samsung products or if you do like others have suggested get a 6-in-1 writers which go as cheap as $15 someplaces.

It would be nice if some of these PDS's could use USB keys directly for memory storage ...now that would be cheap and useful!
