IBM Debuts new "Java"?

How is this technology different from what Java or even Citrix attempt to do?  Do applications need to be rewritten to support this?

So ... what does it do?  Manage licenses?  Enable automated installation?

I guess what I'm going is the "so what" kind of effect. 

What's the big deal?  Why should I buy this product?

Looks like IBM's marketing department has discovered the web browser.

Some MBA probably heard a programmer explaining how content could be adapted for different types of client devices, and none of the programers had the balls to tell him it's all been done before.

Looks like another "thin client" idea. Haven't we been through this before, only with Sun? People want big fat clients, not thin ones. Windows will win again.
