Calling card site

Hi,

You know I have tried all sorts of calling card sites like callnation.com, reliablecom.com and sdicards.com and I don't believe how fucked up they are. Their access numbers are busy, I don't get to get through my number easily. It's just pain in the butt!

I was wondering if any of JoS users has any recommendations for calling card site.

Thanks for reading!

Hi JD,

My wife has family all over, so we've been through all of them too. For the last year or so she's been using and very happy with http://www.callingcard.com. They have a cool spin on it where you actually create an account, and add money to the account. You can call any one of a couple hundred local access numbers to dial into their system, and you can set up your phone number so that it recognizes you. You can also set up the numbers that you call on a speed dial list. So, this means that making a call goes from being 30-40 key presses each time down to 4-5 (assuming that you have their number on speed dial on your phone). When you're trying to call some countries with unreliable connections this is a life saver.

Their rates for everyplace that we call are within a few cents per minute of those at the cheapest other cards, but they also  give you bonus credit for each time you fill your card. I think they give you $20 extra when you put in $100. There's also no connection fees and the connections have always been good where we're calling.

Otherwise, TheRichCom.com used to be the best site we had found, though their customer service if things got messed up would sometimes need some hand-holding.

After a bitter experience where I could not manage to call my Dad after trying 5 calling cards, I want something which is VERY RELIABLE even if it costs more.

Any suggestions?

P.S.: I am just desperately waiting for my credit card to come so that I can get cell phone!

Also, the majority of sites I have seen are basically 'retailer' of the calling cards. Anyone knows who is the actual service provider which gives you this service??

We've found Callingcard.com to be very reliable, and they are the provider, not a reseller.

Did you try BigZoo?

You might be able to find something at www.abelltolls.com

Their main focus is long distance but I think they have stuff about calling cards too.  (With one of the big long distance companies, we were looking at 90c/minute for my wife's calls to her mom in Romania; but thanks to this site we pay 19c/minute instead, _and_ get better service, accurate bills, and no cramming.)

I use <a href="http://www.011enterprise.com/01191/index.asp?a=jnth">http://01191.net/</a>too.
They are reliable and cheaper than most websites.
The trick is most web sites charge you 75cents transaction fee which they dont advertise.

Hi,
I'm a UK citizen living in the US and I call friends and family a couple of times a week and so the cost racks up quite a bit! I had tried a few phone cards before but like yourself had been disapointed with the quality. But a friend put me onto this new site called http://www.CheaperChat.com which has unbelievable low rates. So I purchased a $20 WorldWide prepaid phone card from this site and it is excellent! I call the UK at only 1.7c/min, and the quality of the connection is excellent and I can always get through to my access number. So I thought I would just let you all know as I have had trouble with phone cards in the past but this one is a really cheap reliable way to call home. This site also has some excellent rates to just about every country in the world!!! http://www.CheaperChat.com
