Great Design
All really great designs are simple and even obvious -- once they've been designed. But the process of getting there requires incredible persistence and a willingness to try lots of different ideas until the right one falls into place.

I sometimes wonder about threads like this. Obviously the original poster felt that this thought warranted posting here, and seems somewhat impressed by the idea. Yet something about the way they said it didn't inspire anyone else to post for a while, and then when they did, it was either random or a quick link to something similar.
I always picture someone sitting alone at their computer, posting the original message, and then checking back every so often to see if anyone replied to it. It seems like they'd start to get let down, to become frustrated that nobody else was as impressed with their idea as they were.
This just makes me want to know who wrote the original message? What was it about the idea that impressed them so much? Are they upset that nobody responded? Did they even come back here to check?
Anyway, enough with the idle musings, I should get back to work.

Nah, if people don't reply to MY posts it is just because the point was made so perfectly that there is nothing more to be added. If they do reply it was because they were too dense to see the beauty.
How is that for true dev. attidude? Maybe I should become a sysadmin one of these days. On a Lunix system.
