I've got to agree with Stephen - a 20" panel with 1600x1200 resolution is around $1200. So you're paying a $15000 premium to have them mounted together...

I would go for the 20" instead of the 23" one.

I don't mind smaller text, and given that they both have the same native resolution, I think it is $4000 well saved.

Chris - for dual-proc I continue to dream about buying a machine from monarch computers. They remain the only configurator I've seen that has:
1) Dual Xeon
2) Choices that make tech sense
3) SCSI + more than 2 drives
4) Graphics cards other than 8MB Trident. (Standard thinking seems to be - "Dual Xeons and SCSI? Must be a server. Don't need good graphics cards then")

I'm sure other companies could put in a good card if I asked, but if it's not in their standard configurator then they don't do it all the time, and I don't feel like getting a dual CPU box that's done as a one-off. That way lies madness.

As well as pricing info in the selections (as opposed to only when you total out), so I can do dollar/performance tradeoffs.

Not good enough.

Each screen still has a thin divider. If I'm going to pay that much, I want pure 100% 'seamless' transition, not some crappy mechanical fixture hack that still shows its rough edges.

Am I the only one that thinks someone would get sore neck muscles looking at that thing? You'd constantly be turning your head from one side to another.

Don't get me wrong...it looks wickedly cool; just not sure how practical it is unless you're a huge flight simulator fan.

Philo,

I got my Dual Xeon, SCSI RAID5 system from Dell. You get to specify exactly what you want from a pretty big list of kit. I posted about it a couple months ago.

Got to say it has been pretty good too. The machine has just worked, done everything I've thrown at it.

What I love is that you can tell VS.NET to do a build of the ASP.NET project, then by the time you've pressed ALT+TAB to switch to the browser its finished and you can just hit F5 to refresh.

This makes a big difference. I used to wait between builds on my old PC, but now I can change one line and just see it work immediately.
