Proxie Servers - How do users login?
Hi:
I plan to set up a proxy server for our college - it is a pretty small community college so we do not have much of a budget.
The goal of the proxy server is that users will be able to obtain online journals that the college library subscribes to - for liscensing reasons the requests can only come from the college's servers.
I plan on using a Win XP box as the proxy server - our traffic load will not be high.
A challenge is that only users of the Library will be able to login the proxy server - The library users info is stored on a SQL Server 2000.
Can I have a web interface for when a user arrives at the proxy server? The web interface would be a login form which users will need to fill?
So when users come in they have to go through a web server on the proxy server. I am not sure if this is the right way to go about this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Pairei Dog,
Are you sure what you are doing is legal? Most online libraires only allow a certain number of people to connect at one time. Storing the copy on a proxy servers is lilely to be illegal.
