apprentice question- probably covered before
Yes, another Apprentice thread and quite possibly covered before but here goes.
Assuming the premise of the show is not a lie the winner will become "apprentice" to Donald Trump. I believe this would be valuable in terms of making contacts and providing an argument why people might want to invest in you (he's good enough for Donald Trump so he's good enough for me). Absent these two factors do people think the winner would learn things from Trump that would allow him to become filthy rich?

There are no secrets. Business Contacts/Networking that Trump has are the most valuable assets that he brings to the table. He's bringing the winner into "The good old boys' club" as they say.
The inexperienced seem to underestimate the value of contacts/networking. It's all about who's in your rolodex.
Why buy a CityDesk or FogBugz when you can buy product X from company Y? "Well, Joel Spolsky, usability extraordinaire, blah blah owns Fog Creek...yada yada."
Joel posts regularly to the forums, therefore he's (probably) making new contacts on here, hence - potentially new source of revenue.
If you went to college with the CEO of Boeing, how much easier do you think it would be to get a sales meeting with that person compared to someone with no previous contact?
Trump can walk up to John Doe III Sr., VP of HAL and say "This is Bob, he's our new <pompous title>" and unless Bob is an idiot, he now has an in with Mr Doe...even when he doesn't work for Trump anymore. Therein lies the value of Trump
