Good ASP hosting provider for a decidated server?

We've been through three different providers and suffered through their billing errors, incompetence, and messy mergers with other ASP's...their reliability and service just doesn't live up to their marketing.  The small ones don't seem to know what they're doing and the big ones are so bureacratic that they don't even know who you are....

Can anyone recommend a good solid ASP that is Microsoft-friendly?

I think http://www.brinkster.com offers dedicated hosting now.  I CANNOT speak for their dedicated hosting, but their shared/virtual hosting has always been flawless and nice.

RE: WWW.D2DHOSTING.COM

It's funny, I notice they have prominent "Delphi" banner ads.  I used to be a real pro at Delphi until I needed to serve things over the web.  I found Delphi to be horrible at this--it worked, but just an enormous pain in the ass--and became a vbscript developer practically overnight...

"I found Delphi to be horrible at this"

Must have been a while <g>.  With Intraweb, EWF and CGIExpert libs available, Delphi is about as RAD as web work gets now.  Only asp.net comes close to the ease of Delphi v7 for web apps, especially database driven ones.

But D2DHosting.com would be just as good a choice for php, asp.net or cf.  I've had a dedicated server there for years to test my clients' projects and several clients have dedicated servers there themselves.  The team running it are all developers, and not all Delphiers.  For both security and service, they're a great choice.

You can get a lot of opinions about dedicated server providers in the forums at http://www.webhostingtalk.com

Seems like ServerMatrix and The Planet always come out on top there, with good service, network performance, and prices.  So I got a test server at ServerMatrix a couple of months ago and it's been perfect so far:  2.4GHz Celeron, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB HD, 1000 GB throughput.  For $79/month.

The Planet is the parent company of ServerMatrix and offers slightly more full featured and expensive servers.  I plan to move to them once I get in production:  dual 2.8GHz Xeon, 80 GB Raid 1 IDE , 2 GB Ram, 2000 GB throughput.  $399/month.  http://www.theplanet.com

You can find some other recommended hosts in forums at WebHostingTalk.

RE: http://www.webhostingtalk.com

Excellent link, thank you!

I had no idea there was such a specific and active discussion forum for this topic.  Google or not, word of mouth still works. :)
