Focus?

Any good techniques apart from "to-do list" to remain focussed during software development?

(PS - its usually easy to focus during programming/coding as such, but what about those other phases like requirements gathering, design doc, design review etc - in my experience, these things happen at a slow pace since it involves more people)

Write a personal journal (where "blog" is the hip term), following your progress.  Update it several times a day.

Actually I like it.

If you own your own problem, rather than world's problem and if your complete 'work' is just to solve those problems it would be better to focus.

If you think, how many of your problems you think will be solved by other people you will get the real -data.
