VMware 3 suspend/resume

I realize that this is not the VMware support forum, but since I found nothing there and everyone here seems to use VMware, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask this.

I always suspend my virtual machines (WinXP) so I can resume them quickly. After the resume, however, the virtual machine responds very slowly to mouse events for a few minutes and then it finally responds normally. Is this a known problem and is there a workaround?

My virtual machines use 256 MB memory and I have a total of 512 MB on a Win2K Pro host. I use a Wacom Graphire tablet which may be interfering somehow (at least it doesn't work at all in a virtual machine).

It's probably just swapping in lots and lots of RAM from the hard drive.
