Consulting companies pay living costs on site?

I have an offer from one of the top10 consulting companies.
I assume that they pay expenses (lodging, food, transport), when on site?

Why don't you ask?

You sure as heck had better negotiate travel expenses! Don't assume anything.

Generally, contractors are offered a rate out of which is supposed to come all travel expenses. Contracting is nothing like traveling for your employer as a full time employee.

The consulting company *may* pay per diem (a fixed amount for each day that you work for the client) out of which you pay your travel expenses. Or, far more rarely, the consulting company may allow you to expense all of your travel expenses and they will reimburse you directly. Most consulting companies go for per diem because of the paperwork.

Ask. Ask. Ask.

If you will work for one of the top10 consulting company, I would assume that you know better about these conditions. You have a lot to learn I think,

Dev, do you mean a consulting company or a recruiter?

I think you mean a recruiter. I can't believe someone offered a role with a top 10 consulting company wouldn't know about expenses by now.

Anderson doesn't exist any more, Dev. And it's spelt with an "e". What's the story, Dev. This doesn't ring true.

It should be spelled as Accenture. :-)

now we know why all consulting companies are crap

Yes. They're run by accountants and hire cheap morons to do the actual work. Then they hire highly paid liers to explain away the crappy work.
