MSDE 2000 performance
Microsoft has released a paper describing the MSDE 2000 workload governer (the code that tries to slow down MSDE's SQL Server engine in atypical use). You might be able to use this info to tune your MSDE backed projects.

Thanks for the reference that is a great article.
One bullet point in the article that gave me a laugh appeared under the section about doing performance analysis to determine if it's really bad database design that is causing issues.
"-A poor database design that forces unnecessary joins."
Boy, what a powder keg that statement is...

I'm curious, why is:
""-A poor database design that forces unnecessary joins."

A powder keg?
I know its important to denormalize in situations that demand performance, but is that really an explosive statement.
Just curious . . . thanks.
