JOS Selected Essays
Now I read JOS a lot. But I can not remember anyone ever mentioning this. I do remember that someone suggested at one point that Joel should put his essay's into a book, and I've often though about it, but here it is!

Yes it's bad.
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=infamous&x=11&y=18 says "disgraceful, having a reputation of the worst kind".
I guess the reviewer thought it meant "controversial" or something.
I read the review but didn't notice that; I was parsing the review as "advertising: skip to next...".
