Cell Phone booster

I spend a fair amount of time at a condo in the mountains, where my cell phone rarely gets signal.  On the deck, I have one bar, but inside I usually get nothing.  Does anyone have experience with cell phone boosters or antennas?  A friend said the antennas that people use to have on their cars might work; any ideas where to find one?  If it matters, I have a GSM phone from VoiceStream and I'm in Colorado.

Look on the back of the phone. There's an input for an external antenna at the top of the case.

Go to the manufacturer's website and look for accessories.
