HRP UK

Anyone know of any good human resource planning
applications for smaller organizations (in the UK) ?

I get tens of hits when I search for this in Google,
too many to evaluate within a short timescale.

I could narrow down the search by only considering
large enterprise software vendors such as Peoplesoft
or SAP, but I suspect that:

a) They wouldn't be interested in small fry like us

b) The amount of customization consulting they
would want to sell us would make it better to
    roll our own

c) Their stuff wouldn't work

So, can anyone recoommend any good hrp
packages?

Many Thanks

PS
It's for a charity I'm trying to help

If they're a small charity do they have enough people to warrant an all inclusive system?

A good payroll system has all the employee management, holiday and absence management as well as the statutory stuff.

The rest for a small organisation is really procedures, you can buy them off the shelf or hire a good human resources consultant to create the policies and then implement them.

In terms of disciplinary and disputes ACAS has a free advice service and can provide the best practice examples.

Thanks Simon. I'll have a look. But I think
they do need HR systems or they wouldn't
be rolling their own. I would be negligent
and self serving if I didn't alert them to
other options. Do you know of any good
all inclusive packages?

People do all sorts of stupid things, it can be derelict not to point them out.

Find any decent payroll system, that is upscale from Quickbooks for example.  Give them the feature set from that and ask them what else do they need?

Grateful, I used to work for another co. in the same building as this company. Having had numerous "over coffee" discussions, I know they're technically very competent. I have no idea though if their app is fit for your purposes. Drop them an email/phone.

I have no financial or other interests in this company and no contact/interest in its staff, other than as stated above.
