Microsoft: Delphi fans?

First Anders, now Chuck and a bunch of others? What's a better testimony to Delphi's quality than MS hiring the minds behind it?

What's a better testimony to its demise?

Well, you've got a point there, too.

Borland should have hired Microsoft's marketers.

Many people have said that Borland is dead. They said it a lot of times.

Yet Borland survived.

There are a lot more smart people at Borland than the ones you mentioned.

Borland also has a steady flux of income.

I am sure that Borland can survive and provide us with very high quality tools that are years ahead of the rest of the industry, like they did in the last 6 years.

". . . like they did in the last 6 years. "

You mean like they've done for the past 20+ years.  Borland was founded in 1983 to sell TurboPascal and they've always had first rate development tools.

As far as software companies go, they're one of the oldies.  How many software companies other than Microsoft can you name that have been around for more than 20 years?

Computer Associates, but I'd not touch their stuff with a 10-foot pole.

CA is where good software goes to die.  Sort of like the elephant graveyard.
