How to find my HD's speed?

Hi,

Anyone know how to find out what speed an installed hard drive is?  (RPM, etc.) ?

I've never figured out how to do that. Tried looking at hardware properties but it just shows size, etc.

Have to take a look at the physical drive.  They are labeled with a sticker that will tell you what RPM it is.

Which by the way is a pretty meaningless metric.

Oh, really?

What's the easiest way to get a rough idea of your HD speed?

That was for Li Fan: what's a better measure (Than RPM) of HD's speed?

I believe there are utilites that test your burst and sustained i/o rates as well as seek times.

Look at the manufacturer and model number and Google?

Try Aida32

It's a pretty awesome tool for hardware information.
