Shared Jumpdrive

I work in a corporate environement where they will not allow private laptops to hook up to their network.  When I need to get something from my laptop to a PC in the office, I use a Jumpdrive - one of those USB memory things.

I was wondering if anyone makes these things with two USB cables so they could serve as a shared drive.  Or is there anything else I can do?

You'll need a special USB hub; a plain cable won't do it.

I've seen hubs that let you switch which PC the stuff is connected to, and I know that the USB spec theoretically allows multiple computers to be used, but I don't know specifically which hardware you'll need.

Ah, hah, here ya go:

It probably costs more than the jump drive, but it should work.

I'd use the IR port on the laptop and buy an USB <-> IR cable.

Sorry, I just have to ask. What are you doing work on your personal laptop for? Does your company not give you the right tools for the job?

...tell me these are MP3's you are bringing to work or something! :)

I wish it was MP3's, but trust me - you don't want to know.

Thanks for the other 2 suggestions.  I'll probably go with one or hte other.

They don't let you have a personal laptop at work, but they let you bring in your daily porno from home and view it at work?  Sweet....

Tissues may be a taxable benefit...

Something you might bear in mind.

You people. I write little one-off utilities using a half dozen tools on my laptop.  The powers that be reuire that everything gets run through the "lab" before it allowed on thier networked PCs. I don't want to deal with that. Sheesh.
