Help with English translation needed

Hi everybody!

We are about to translate our website from German to English. Now I'm quite confident of my English skills but I'd like to ask if someone who speaks English as his first language can proofread our text? It is not much and will take no more than 10 minutes.

If you could help us here please write me an email (with the link below, I won't post my address here for the spiders).

sounds like an email harvester to me.

You won't trust us with your email, but expect us to do the same.

Why don't you post the URL to the *new* English website, and we will post our feedback on this forum.

That way you get the benefit of many eyes. No need to harvest email addresses, and take it offline

It sounds like a perfectly legitimate request to me.  Why would a spammer will take the time to concoct a fictitious story and post it on JoS in the hopes of harvesting a handfull of email addresses?

On the other hand, if the web site is anything more than a single page, I doubt that it can be proofread in 10 minutes.  Holger, could you post a link to your site (even the original German site) so people know how much work is involved?

Just post the URL holger, or post the text right here and a bunch of people will complain about every little mistake youve made. ;-)

If the guy were smart he'd've posted the link and said "Hey, look at our site's brilliant English translation!" and then waited for us all to make fun of it so he could see where the mistakes were.

Sorry if this came along the wrong way. I really just wanted someone to proofread the thing. Thanks to everyone who wrote me, you were so helpful!

And for the others: our website (in German) is at http://www.hs-2.de. I didn't want to post it at first so that nobody could say "He's just marketing his business!" but if you are in the market for a new website or some interactive multimedia thingamajing... OK, now you got me. :-)

Yes, I have to agree with Tapiwa, that's one of three websites I've ever seen where I've thought "Yeah. That's the way a website /should/ look." Great work.

Of course, you must understand that we're all geeks of one sort or another here, so we're probably way off in terms of what the average Joe likes!

The Lone Ranger and Tonto are riding through one of the many canyons when suddenly rising from the hill on their right are hundreds of indians. They start to spur their horse forward when they realised that there are hundreds of indians ahead of them.  Wheeling to the left they, once again, see hundreds of indians rising from the hill.  They begin to back away in the direction from which they had come and they realise, they were surrounded.  The indians had spread out.  They were trapped. 

The Lone Ranger turns to Tonto, his life long friend, and says "Tonto, my firend, I think I must say that I have treasured our times together but now I think we are doomed".

" We?" replied Tonto "What's all this we shit, Paleface?"
