It looks like Mr. Rowe isn't going to get the bounty that it at first seemed -- after finding that most of the bidders were bogus (as they almost always are in these high publicity auctions), the current bid dropped from over $200,000, to $500 right now (which is the opening price). Ouch!

Of course, what does one think some WIPO papers and a form domain squatting legaleze mailing is worth? Microsoft, I'm sure, has sent out thousands of these, and this story has about the same longevity as the career of Joey after he leaves Friends.

Well at least he got beer money out of it -- on top of an Xbox, MSDN, etc.  I think it's ironic that nobody even knew about his site (much less was confused by it) until Microsoft called out the lawyers with spurious legal threats.  More power to him.
