"Active Directory Programmer's Guide" ... Where??

Hi all!!

Am getting up to speed on AD/LDAP and related issues, and when reading the MS docs about extending the AD schema, I find the follwing:

"For detailed information about modifying the Active Directory schema, see The Active Directory Programmer's Guide at the Microsoft Web site (http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=Active Directory&pver=5.0&ar=adprog).
"

But on follwing the link, I get a 404 error. I do a google on the terms, I find several links to the MS pages, but all of them end on 404 errors. The search at the msdn site also shows hits, but no valid content anywhere....

So my question is, anybody knows where can I find those docs? Or do you know if MS is restricting access to their docs nowadays??

I recommend using google to find things on MS sites.

I think that's the AD Reference; not what I was looking for, but useful anyways. Thanks a lot...

As for using google, the search for "The Active Directory Programmer's Guide +site:msdn.microsoft.com" on google ( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=The+Active+Directory+Programmer%27s+Guide+%2Bsite%3Amsdn.microsoft.com&btnG=Google+Search ) shows some hits that refer _to_ the guide itself.

For example:
(on http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnw2ksrv/html/w2kserve_chapter4.asp, "Application Specification for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server") it says:

But the URL points to a 404 error!!

And that's where it all starts going in circles again....

I FOUND IT ... I think.

It's not called 'Active Directory Programmers Guide', but 'Using Active Directory'.

From this page:

There's a link to 'Using Active Directory - Active Directory Programmers Guide':

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/ad/ad/using_active_directory.asp

That just proves how 'cool' MS's search engine is. Searching for 'AD Programmers guide' gets you nowhere.

Links only works in IE ... Surprise. When using Opera, you just get redirected to ... somewhere.
