working at google in LA

I am interviewing with google for a position in Los Angeles.

Does anyone on this forum work there? I'm interested in the work environment, in particular the hours. What are the hours like at google? I'm moving from a consulting background, and I did a 2 year stint at a startup where I worked 80hrs a week - I hope to never do this again.

I'm mostly interested because I intend to pursue a master's degree at UCLA part-time in the evenings. Would this be possible?

Sorry if I was curt and obvious.  What I should have added was that this was a question that would be good to ask during the interview, as it would show the interviewer you were interested in more than just working 90 hours a week and burning out.  Also that you are interested in improving yourself by getting an advanced degree.

You could also use this question to lead into a "what type of development environment" question.  Ask about if they unit test, use bug trackers, configuration management, etc.  I didn't mean to be rude, just that asking this question during the interview would give you the answer you want, and probably make you look better.

I apologize for being rude. I just want to emphasize that I'm just trying to get whatever preliminary information I can about the office - I'm planning on asking during the interview as well.

It is the applied semantics office that google acquired earlier this year. Maybe there are some applied semantics people here also?

http://www.fury.com/ - says he's pulled one all nighter since starting there a few months ago and he doesn't see it happening again for quite some time.  Due to that one could reasonably pursue an advanced degree part-time.
