At one of Microsoft's Tech Ed's they had presentations by the "Software Legends" that wrote some of the MS Press .Net books.

Eric was poking fun at the whole "Software Legends" thing. Pretty damn funny if you ask me.

I just now visited that Software Legends web site....I've never seen such pompous, arrogant, self-serving promotion outside of Hollywood or politics.

No doubt..those guys are major contributors to the .NET field, but geesh. This is a bit over the top.

These guys shameless (and overly exaggerated) self-promotion makes Larry Ellison look bashful.

Um...I just looked at the site and I'd say if it's tongue in cheek, then the satire will be lost on most people. I didn't see anything there to suggest anything other than these guys are reading too much of their own press.
