Javascript & selectbox

I cannot find the thread with the example of a selectbox going to the 'Hes' instead of the s's when that is typed when the select box has the focus.  Anyone have this JS reference

The behavior you're describing (incremental search in a list box) is a function of the listbox implementation. I don't think you can override it using Javascript.

On Windows, only listboxes marked with the "sorted" attribute get incremental search. IE's listboxes are never marked as "sorted" that I'm aware of, hence, no incremental search.
