TV Show about Programming? Though I don't have cable TV, I have never heard of a television show about programming or software project management or software construction etc. Is there such an animal? Would you watch a show like that?
Dave B.
The .NET Show on MSDN.
Walter Rumsby
The Office.
Oggy! Oggy! Oggy!
What was that show with Soledad O'Brien on it?

I'd only watch if they had a color commentator.

Is it Friday yet?
Anyone remember "The Whizzkid"?

How about BBC's "Attachments". That was a soap/drama based in a dot com. Not very good really, but it had some programmers in it.

Unless it is something like a comedy it will never happen, most shows about how to do stuff are to promote DIY type business, there just aren't enough DIY programers out there.

Dweebs. A poorly received and short lived US sitcom:

Dweebs is brilliant. It's worth catching on re-runs.

If you get one of the Dish TV packages with about 16,000 or so channels, (exaggerating but it seems like it) some colleges have dedicated distance learning channels. I've seen C, C++ and Java programming courses being televised with source code walk-throughs...

BITS & BYTES was an old show on Public Television in the early 80's that I loved as a kid!!!!!

Dweebs seems like a great concept.

I can really see a reality tv show like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy taking off. A bunch of people going into projects and setting them up with version control or whatever. This could be justified through product placements (which I don't have a real problem with when done right) and very targetted ads. Nonprofits with volunteer coders can be a big target for this show, since they should be more informal and grateful for help. Also there can episodes where the team helps coordinate disaster relief.

Watch for the new show coming to a cable channel near you:
Burninator
Watch spell-bound as the patient nerd tracks down the same bug for 8 hours straight.
The Real PC
HA! I remember "Bits and Bytes" and "Whiz Kids".
