TV Show about Programming?

Though I don't have cable TV, I have never heard of a television show about programming or software project management or software construction etc.  Is there such an animal?  Would you watch a show like that?

The .NET Show on MSDN.

Borland did their own version, which was kind of funny - Microsoft's show was filmed in a studio, Borlands was filmed with a guy sitting at a desk with a sheet behind him.

What was that show with Soledad O'Brien on it?

I'd only watch if they had a color commentator.

"I think he may have found the bug!  He's stepping through! stepping through.... It could be... it might be... he's found it!!! The crowd goes wild!!!!!"

How about BBC's "Attachments". That was a soap/drama based in a dot com. Not very good really, but it had some programmers in it.

Unless it is something like a comedy it will never happen, most shows about how to do stuff are to promote DIY type business, there just aren't enough DIY programers out there.

Dweebs. A poorly received and short lived US sitcom:

Never saw it myself.

Dweebs is brilliant. It's worth catching on re-runs.

If you get one of the Dish TV packages with about 16,000 or so channels, (exaggerating but it seems like it) some colleges have dedicated distance learning channels. I've seen C, C++ and Java programming courses being televised with source code walk-throughs...

BITS & BYTES was an old show on Public Television in the early 80's that I loved as a kid!!!!!

Dweebs seems like a great concept.

I am working on a screenplay for something similar.

Anyone know where I could get tapes of this show??

I can really see a reality tv show like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy taking off.  A bunch of people going into projects and setting them up with version control or whatever.  This could be justified through product placements (which I don't have a real problem with when done right) and very targetted ads.  Nonprofits with volunteer coders can be a big target for this show, since they should be more informal and grateful for help.  Also there can episodes where the team helps coordinate disaster relief.

Yeah, and each week a developer gets booted off for not checking in their code, or doing unit tests, or introducing new bugs... ;)

Watch for the new show coming to a cable channel near you:

"I, For One"

Follow the daily thrills, excitment, and steamy adventures of our GLAMOUROUS, hot, sexy crew of fat, pasty nerds spending 12 hours a day in an open plan office under fluorescent lighting, struggling - as the true martyrs to our way of life - to build a PAYROLL SYSTEM.

* Will Bob finally turn that damned radio down? Watch the showdown - the quavering, voices and tears. But are they Bob's?
* EJBs or JDO?  Who will win the fight? Sit in on the meeting and find out who wins!
* Hot IM gossip revealed - we sniff the packets!
* Slashdot jokes IN SOVIET RUSSIA
* What happened to the red stapler?
* Michael gets a paper cut. Will he live?

All this and more, tonight at 8pm.

HA!  I remember "Bits and Bytes" and "Whiz Kids".
If I'm not mistaken, I remember "Bits and Bytes" doing a show on a breakthrough concept called "Windows" (Where multiple 'screens' could be shown at once) that was pioneered at DEC.
