Empower Program Joel mentioned Microsoft's Empower program in the past. If you didn't sign up before, reconsider. The cost has been slashed in half to $375 (less than $400 for 5 MSDN Universals) and you get a copy of the Longhorn preview.

No you can't renew you're meant to become a full Partner at the end fo the year, the price in the UK is at 50% discount as well, around 200 quid.
