Managing Manager
Discussion on such topic might have taken place earlier, but still I would like to read your opinions.
Our team is managed by a person who is not deserve his position. He got the promotion on No of years he worked for our company.
On personal ground he is nice guy, very helpful.
But the problem is he is not good in communicating with the client and communication has become a mockery!
None of the team members want this to report to his Manager. As everybody is concerned about their own career.
What is the best possible way to convey this to his manager?

Seems to me as though nobody is good in communication
in your team.

I'm with 'Imi' on this one. If the rest of the people were any good, they would communicate these deficiencies/shortcomings to him, or his superiors.
If you feel that you are up to the task, speak to him. He might not enjoy the client communications bit of his job, and might be more than happy to cede this to a keen volunteer.

If you are truly worried about your career then you should be more concerned about senior management at your company (your employer). What makes you believe that the people who allowed your current manager to get promoted to such a position of responsibility won't do the same thing again? In other words, pretend for a moment that someone here on this forum tells you how you can get rid of your current incompetent manager. What guarantee is there that your employer won't promote someone else who is even worse than your current manager?

That is not necesarily so; the original posters native language is clearly not english. So this is a language barrier rather that a communication barrier in his native language.

My manager used to be the secretary(Ok-administrative assistant). What she really does is create a layer between him and us. This way everything bad comes from her and on the occasion he does override her, he is the "good guy." More importantly, she does not think. She does what she is told, and everything to be decided is run by him, just like he wants.
Look for the bigger picture of why this guy was chosen. You said years of service, but was it really?
[My cube mate figures she's got pictures of the boss with a goat. - but that's just Paul]
