Duke would have to be quite literally the last name I would have applied to that little blob character. Maybe "Pip" or "Yentle", but "Duke"?

I believe the mascot is LG... Long Green and the symbol is $ although I don't have a reference.

In my opinion the BSD daemon (does he have a name?) is by far the best mascot of all time. And the GNU mascot (whatever that thing is) is the worst.
