Licensing and registration tools?

I am working for a small startup and we are about to launch our first commercial product. We have been trying to decide if we should write our own code or buy code for managing license keys, creating "timed trials", submitting registration information, etc. Is there the equivalent of "InstallSheild" for registration and licensing? Any good or bad experiences?

Also, does anyone have opinions on different licensing policies (e.g. having license keys only work for a single install on a single machine).
