In the U.S., April 1 is "April Fool's Day." It's a day that's traditional for pulling pranks on other people -- making them the "April Fool." This is an example of such a prank.

As an aside, if you pull an aprils fool day trick AFTER 12pm you're the one considered a fool. Or atleast, that's how it was explained to me through my childhood in NZ.

Is it legal to claim PigeonRank as TM'd? I'd be very surprised if they had actually filed it. Anyway, surely the joke is inspired by the Avian Carriers RFC?
Evidently all jokes and matter of humorous content now have to observe all existing trademarks and not spuriously claim patent applied licence numbers in case anyone is misled into thinking that it might be real.

Turn it around - let's say I claimed a TM on something and then if someone questioned it I could just say "it was a joke". It would make the whole trademark thing a joke (tm).

Actually I think metasites and aggregators are killing google. If you try to search on something that remotely resembles a female star's name, be prepared to get pages and pages of "see her nude" sites. And if you're searching for programming tips, there will be a LOT of duplication from sites that simply aggregate articles from other sites.
