West Michigan Joelsters

--> Anyone who reads JOS from West Michigan?

I'm thinking lansing to Traverse City to St. Joeseph, or something like that.

Macinac can be honorary.  (Aren't you living somewhere like virginia, anyway? :-)

Nice try and I wish you well, but I'm thinking things are going to get pretty thin in the midwest. I was considering posting an "Ohio Valley Joelster" invitation but, like, someone's going to drive in from Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Louisville.... ? Well, you do have Chicago nearby, tho.

These guys who live in the big urban cores like NYC and Toronto have it made, their cities are already physically pkzipped so everyone's relatively nearby. ;-)

Another Detroiter here -- hello Ian!

What's wrong with TC? There is a lot more to do there now than there was 20 years ago, that's for sure.

Detroit area refugee, and the best thing I can say is: get out now while you still can.

I have lived near Detroit for 10 years now, but I grew up in the Twin Cities area.  My family (none of whom live near here) frequently question why I stayed after college.

In my experience, living in Detroit is like being a fan of a perennial loser.  (Like say, the Detroit Tigers.)  You spend so much time defending it you develop an irrational loyalty.
