The second blurb by Mark Wieczorek over runs the menu bar (or whatever it's called) obscuring the items.

Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, I'm seeing it, and a horizontal scroll bar. Here's a screen capture of the lower-left corner:

I think it's because I'm using IE 5.00 (Win 98 SE at 1280x1024). I've been told that IE 5.5 and higher displays the page correctly.

Mister, sounds to me like you gotta upgrade to a more modern OS, like Winderz Two Thousan or Winderz Ecks-Pee.

The bottom menu bar is attached to the center column, at certain resolutions that happens.

I see it with WinXP+IE6 completely up-to-date with every patch. Running at 1280x1024.

The image on this page overlaps the grey box from where I'm looking (XP, latest stuff, 1280 x 1024). Not a big deal.

Does it in Netscape 7.0 and IE 5.5 Considering how awful the bottom menu bar is it's a possible improvement.

My attitude with the OS is that if it ain't broke, don't upgrade.

Gone are my *I want the latest* days. Still running '98 on secondary box, and 2k on laptop.

As far as apps go, I still think Office 97 was the sweet spot.

I think it is a problem to do with the font size setting in your browser. If, like me, you no longer have perfect 20/20 vision you'll have set IE to "ignore" site specified font sizes, and then you may well see this.

Yea, it's to do with font size, but not the way you suggest.

In Netscape I have to reduce font size to 90% to get it to look perfect, and in IE I have to use the smallest setting.

Now I have my setting set to large fonts 120 dpi, but it is a fairly normal setting for 1280 x 1024 on a 19" monitor. Whether it will be the same with small fonts 96dpi, the default setting, I don't know, as I would have to restart the computer to check.

It's just something extra web designers have to remember to test for - use both font settings.

I may add it is the first time I have come across the problem

I sent them an email about this a few days ago. I'm using WinXP Pro, IE6 and 1280 x 1024.

I think that they didn't bother testing at this resolution, which is suprising when you consider the audience for the site.

<cynical>I suspect that this new site makeover is just another one of Joel's cosy link-swaps really. I mean the sites he said Dave Shea did were about as "eye-popping" as that token/creo thing was "going to take off like wildfire".</cynical>
