What Other Types of Development Jobs are There?

Aside from application programming, what kinds of other things can programmers do for a living?  What percentage of people do something other than app dev?  What qualifications do you need?

1.) Work on a hardware solution writing drivers.
2.) Web sites that are more brochure than application.

I know several CS-types that do sys admin stuff. My uncle, for one, graduated with CS in the early 80's and coded on UNIX for about 10 years before getting into UNIX administration. Oddly enough, he does not have a beard or wear glasses.
