IIS 6

Anybody here running it for any length of time now?  What do you think?  How does it compare to 5?

So I guess no one uses it.

We are running it. It has great features. But we keep running into issues with Windows 2003 stability as a platform. It is very week and on all four applications we are using them, it just keeps crashing :(.

We have applied few patches from Microsoft but it has not really helped.

right now we have our SQL Server databases (clustered) on 2003, and we'll probably be upgrading our Web Servers to 2003 soon.  Haven't seen any problems at all with our databases.  I do my development on 2003 (ASP.NET) and have seen no problems.  Then again, I don't really have much of a load on there...

What are you running on the 2003 Server that keeps crashing?  I've yet to see one of these machines go astray, and we've done plenty with them.

Is the kernel mode HTTP engine required on IIS 6?

Yes, the kernel mode HTTP parser and dispatcher is a required part of IIS 6.

We use W2K3 and the boxes are absolutely rock solid. Running IIS 6 and SQL Server 2000 SP3a, applications build in ASP.NET.
