palm, pocketpc, laptop, filofax ... ?

What kind of "device" do you use to organize your work, or even directly work ?

At work, i have a classic desktop computer
At home I have a desktop computer
I also own a palm for apointements, adresses, phone numbers...

I read a book about time, organization, ... and the author said : the best thing to avoid loosing time is to have only one device for everything... he bougth a laptop.

I don't know if people really use a laptop for everything... or think it's really cheaper and more simple to have a classic (papermade) organizer and pc to work on...

what about interoperability between pocketpc, computer softwares like outlook,..

...

I have a Palm and one of those folding keyboards. I love it.

Of course, I don't try to do the same things on my Palm that I do on my desktop computer. I mainly use the Palm for capturing meeting minutes, drafting notes and articles, and for carrying all my Outlook contacts, to do lists, appointments, etc with me.

PocketPC works well for me to have phone numbers, a simple calculator, voice recorder, note taker, and calendars always available in once simple package that fits in my shirt pocket.

For task lists, general note taking, and things like that I use a legal pad.

Sorry, I'm old.

I've tried, variously: a laptop, a Palm, a pocket-sized notebook, a large notebook.

I use different devices for different needs.  I keep my shopping lists and addresses on my Palm.  I record business in a full-size paper notebook.

I just commit everything to memory. :)

I am all for the laptop, but I use my pocket pc for a quick supplement. I can take notes and lookup my calendar, but it all gets dumped back into my laptop. Pocket pc is the easy to carry around, quick to turn on, all in one (includes a phone) device for me.

I have my personal laptop which I use it both at work and home as the only machine. I have couple of Palms and PocketPCs for my development work. I use a Handspring Treo as my phone and PDA to do all the contacts, calendar etc. I love the phone+PDA combo. Everything you need is in the palm of your hand. The Treo I have is slightly bulky, but the new Treo 600 looks really sweet!
