orkut on .net

Pretty surprised to see orkut on .net. Seems like an obvious LAMP situation. It's going to get pretty expensive if it grows much.

i can't believe how fast and responsive that site is- especially compared to friendster (JSP!) which is so incredibly slow that it's actually unusable

of course orkut is nowhere near as big as friendster, yet.

In my opinion the problem with a LAMP installation for OrKut would be the M - MySQL.

Maybe it could be LAPP (Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL, PHP)

On another note, it's not really an issue, the author used what he had and was comfortable with and its good to see .NET getting some penetration.
