Book on 'Net Protocols?

Is there one, or perhaps a series of books that go over the commonly used internet protocols such as HTTP, Email, FTP, etc. ?    I'm getting tired of searching for the correct RFCs.  Any suggestions appreciated.

There might be some sort of child safety protection going on here... Doing anything with those protocols is going to be a little bit harder than finding info on them.
