Photocopying your laptop

The "Excel as a database" cartoon reminds me of my Arts Major friend during assignment time. He brought up MS Word on his laptop and tried to photocopy the screen when his printer stopped working.

Sounds ingenious.  Did it work?  I'm wondering how the LCD interacts with the scanner.

We got his printer working for him. ;)

That's a shame, because if he managed to copy the spreadsheet from the screen, then he could've scanned it in and pasted the image into Word.

That sounds painful.

Excel as a database? Thats nothing. 99% of Excel use for my parents and sisters is for _tabulation_ . Just for printing out text in rows and columns.

Indian,

That's nothing. Joel wrote an article about how MS did a study and found that most Excel users (94% if I confabulate correctly) use Excell for tabulation. This result caused the next revision of Excel to have a strong focus on making it easy to keep lists of things.

I'm too lazy to find the link for you.
